Cheryl Cole in DVF & Oscar de la Renta

We’ve been playing the ‘is she or isn’t she’ game for a while, but it has finally been confirmed, and today Cheryl Cole arrived at the X-Factor USA auditions in Los Angeles.   Deciding on the first day outfit at a new job is no mean feat, so who else better to wear than two designers that have been around for a few years?

Cheryl, sporting the current trend of colour blocking, chose a fizzy-bright orange Oscar de la Renta ruffled-silk top, costing a not-so-frilling $650, and purple Diane von Furstenberg purple trousers ( £258), and clinching the outfit with a baby-blue belt.

Cheryl would’ve scored higher for me if she had pinned her mane back instead of going for the ‘80s bouffant look!   It just seemed too much with Oscar’s frills, and the over-use of the back comb! And just where are her feet?   Maybe she rolled into town instead of walking!

Looking to replicate Cheryl’s Stateside look? Dorothy Perkins has some great purple cropped trousers for £29; at least you’ll be able to see your tootsies at all times! Oasis has a tangerine-dream alternative top for £35.   Want to clinch your outfit too?  Try Mango for a blue leather Obi belt for £29.90! So what do you think? Was Cheryl’s outfit enough to get her through to the next round?  Vote now!
