Kirsten Dunst in Chanel at Cannes

I’m not a huge fan, but even I’ll admit that Kirsten Dunst looked stunning at the Cannes Film Festival. She was at the Closing ceremony, on Sunday, to pick up the Best Actress award for her role in Melancholia. Kirsten walked down the red carpet in a gorgeous Chanel gown from the Haute Couture Spring/Summer 2011 collection. The dress featured a bodice top covered in silver sparkle. The long ivory skirt was made up of tiny ruffles that flowed off into soft ribbons at the very bottom. The contrast of fabrics and colours was a little risky, but trust Chanel to pull this look off!

The only thing that let the outfit down were Kirsten’s black shoes. They looked a bit heavy for such a soft dress. Some silver strappies would have been loads cuter. I’m wondering if there was some last-minute-shoe-related-drama that meant Kirsten had to wear those. Hmmm… who knows?

If Kirsten’s dress has inspired you to wear ruffles, you should check out this Black layered-tulle dress by Lou Lou Bridal. It’s just £175 and comes in lots of different colour combos.

What do you reckon to Kirsten’s outfit? Do you also sympathise over the apparent shoe crisis? Vote below!
