It’s every fashionista’s worst nightmare, you arrive at a party only to find someone else has beaten you to it in the very same dress… This terrible fate emerged a few weeks go at the Roberto Cavalli party at Cannes. The victims? Both models, one who once won the coveted “World Style Award” and the other “Playmate of the Year”.
Both Bar Rafaeli and Victoria Silvstedt style the dress similarly; Bar paired her nude Cavalli creation with a cute bronze box clutch and Sergio Rossi nude patent courts whilst Victoria opted for open toe sandals and an over the shoulder handbag.
As always there could only be one woman who wore the dress best and on this occasion the winner had to be Bar. Although the showy dress does scream “look at me I’m single have a butchers at what you’re missing DiCaprio!” she emits a certain laidback elegance that looks perfect with the beaded shift frock. Victoria on the other hand could have scored a lot higher by embracing the phrase “less is more”. The heavily glossed pout, silver hoops, orange tan and in-your-face cleavage all amount to a look that is too try hard and teeters on the brink of tacky.
