Charlize Theron vs Lindsay Lohan in Dion Lee

We all know that you can never go wrong with a Little Black Dress. Year after year this timeless piece easily adapts to the latest trends. On the Autumn/Winter 2012 catwalk, we saw the LBD transform into a formation of sheer details, whether it be sophisticated mesh panels at Christian Dior, or figure sculpting dresses at Gucci. The celebrities certainly haven’t be ones to miss out on one of my favourite adaptations yet of the LBD.

This particular take on this trend is by Dion Lee, featuring subtle nude body contouring mesh to create a silhouette of illusion. First seen on Charlize Theron back in April, at the Big Screen Achievement Awards, she showcased this piece proving that this style of dress is a must have piece that can be worn time again, all year round. Then on the 20^th November, Lindsay Lohan pulled out the same dress for her interview on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno. She wore the dress with gold earrings and black lace ‘Aeronotoc’ gold studded platform Christian Louboutins!

Good news! The original dress is still available to buy  for £1,875. There are lots of mesh paneled dresses out there, but aren’t many LBDs’ with this particular silhouette, but we’ve found this by Forever21 (£18.75), so you can recreate the look yourselves.

Although Lindsay is right on trend with the mesh detailing this season, I feel Charlize Theron’s outfit combination carries more class, with a classic peep toe and minimal accessories. So with both actresses wearing this LBD 6 months apart, who do you think wore it better?
