Nicki Minaj vs June Ambrose in Christian Louboutin

Back in January, Nicki Minaj made an appearance on American Idol wearing a pair of Mary Jane heels by Christian Louboutin. The showstopping shoes featured a 6inches heel, compromising a 3inches platform, in black snakeskin leather with two separate monochrome patterns and an ankle strap. The Starships singer styled the stunning shoes with a colour block Hervé Léger bandage dress, then completed the outfit with diamond jewellery which clearly made a bold statement.

The exact same pair of heels was spotted on June Ambrose, and who can blame her? Last week, she attended The Cinema Society & Jaeger-LeCoultre screening of The Host where she went all out as she confidently clashed even more patterns: a black and grey pant-suit and a black and white chain strap bag. At least the Celebrity Stylist stuck to a sober monochrome palette but, did it pay off?

Well, to me it appears not! This time my vote goes to Nicki. Being famous for her rather ‘tacky’ style she, if someone, managed to pull off these two rather distinctively different pieces. The Leger/Louboutin combo works perfectly for her, while June’s look is simply boring in comparison!
