Maggie Gyllenhaal vs Rihanna in Lanvin

I love how Rihanna puts her funky/urban stamp on everything she wears – even designer evening gowns. She wore this champagne halter neck dress from Lanvin’s Resort 2010 collection whilst on holiday in Italy last week. The singer wore her hair in a high ponytail, and added a huge cuff and Christian Louboutin strappies to the outfit. With the chain and fringe detail on the neckline of this dress, it’s not a look for everyone, so I’m really surprised that Maggie Gyllenhaal had stepped out the very same dress back in December 2009. The American actress wore the Lanvin gown to the premiere of Crazy Heart. She went for a much cleaner look, with her hair pulled back and no jewellery.

In her last fash-off, Rihanna made JK Rowling look out of her depth, and this time, it’s Maggie Gyllenhaal’s turn for a style lesson.
