Julie Bowen vs Nicole Scherzinger in Mandalay

Julie Bowen is so the girl next door. Did sassy fashionista, Nicole Scherzinger really mean to copy her style in this Mandalay sequin dress? The Modern Family actress donned the white version of the dress for the Annual GLAAD Media awards back in April 2011. Fresh from judging duty on the X Factor USA, Nicole wore the dress in black for a night out in Hollywood a few weeks ago. Both ladies added black heels to the outfit, but, that’s where the similarities stop. While Julie Bowen went for a pretty look, Nicole Scherzinger added some serious funk to the outfit, with a huge leopard print handbag and a bizarre twisty-quiff-hair thing.

With it’s delicate draping and blouson shape, there’s no way this dress should have been styled in any way other than classic. I love how Julie kept the look romantic from her hair to the subtle make-up. Nicole’s styling is too funky for such a beautiful dress.
