Alicia Vikander vs Natasha Poly in Gucci

Russian Model Natasha Poly showed up at the Cannes Film Festival back in May,wearing this emerald gown from the Gucci Fall 2012 collection. With it’s daring neckline and a thigh-high slit that would make Angelina Jolie jealous, she certainly turned a few heads. We know that Velvet is a key look this season, so it’s no surprise that we saw this dress again a few days ago at the premiere of Anna Karenina. Alicia Vikander donned the frock this time. The Swedish actress teamed the dress with a black clutch bag and a pair of black peep toes. Whilst Natasha had opted for a sleek ponytail to show off her de Grisgono earrings, Alicia wore her hair in a beehive, with minimal jewellery.

This Gucci dress will set you back £2,830, which is a small price to pay to feel like Natasha Poly for a day or two. Or, you can still feel sexy in velvet for less with this round neck-line alternative ($510).

Why someone would wear this dress after seeing Natasha Poly in it is beyond me. As cute as Alicia looked, I don’t think she’s tall enough to pull off such a heavy looking gown. I do prefer Alicia’s make up choice though. The soft eyes and sun kissed skin really bring out her bambi-like features. What do you think? Vote below!
