Jessica McNamee vs Delta Goodrem in Carl Kapp

Copycat or just plain old coincidence? Australian singer, Delta Goodrem was the one first spotted in this thigh-high slit dress when she attended the launch of Swisse’s skincare line in May last year. With only a pair of  black two-strap stilettos, a matching handbag and a bronze cuff bracelet; she kept accessories cute and simple and allowed the dress to do all the talking – and look how well it worked!

Late last month, Jessica McNamee was pictured at the AACTA awards wearing the same dress. The Home and Away star added a pop of colour with a turquoise clutch.Unfortunately this Carl Kapp dress is no longer available to buy but if you are keen to rock this look, you can get a similar (and cheaper) maxi dress here (£33).

So who wins this round? I am not so keen on Jessica McNamee’s choice of shoes. Given how bold the dress is, both stars have done well not to go over-board with make-up and hairstyles. However, my vote goes to fresh-faced Delta Goodrem; the dress accentuates her figure and shows off her defined neckline and shoulders. Her loose tresses paired with the cheeky high-thigh slit gives Goodrem an effortlessly sophisticated look which has won her some major brownie points. Whereas Jessica seems as if she was trying to create a playful composition of colours which just didn’t turn out right, or maybe she just put on the wrong shoes that day?
