Li Bingbing vs Samantha Cameron in Alessandra Rich
If somebody said to me that they were going to wear a full-length lace dress to a red carpet event, it would make me think Victorian frump. But, when I saw Li Bingbing wearing this blue lace dress by Alessandra Rich, I changed my opinion. Li wore the dress from the label’s Spring 2012 collection to Elton John’s AIDS Foundation Academy Awards viewing party in February. The actress wore the gown with Cindy Chao jewels and a Lana Marks clutch. The Prime Minister’s wife, Samantha Cameron wore the same dress in March when she visited the Obamas. Sam Cam accessorised with a black belt and wore her hair loose. She even kept the pussy bow on the dress, unlike Li Bingbing.

Neither of these ladies has been in a poll on our site before but I think we’ll be seeing more of them. In my opinion, Samantha Cameron wins her first style showdown. She suits the shape of the dress a lot better and doesn’t look frumpy in it either. Do you agree? Vote below!

The dress looks way better on Li Bingbing, especially since she gave the lining a miss. It looks a little fussy on SamCam with the belt, bow and full lining.

Li Bingbing wore it better.
Her hair in a bun and earrings accentuated the collar and shoulderlines of the dress, keeping it simple but stylish.
Samantha Cameron looks like she (or her stylist) overdid it a bit. Her hair and belt breaks the simple silhouette of dress. From chest up, she kinda reminds me of a kindergarten teacher.
