WHO WORE IT BETTER?
Elizabeth Olsen vs Martha Hunt in Chloé
Karl Lagerfeld once said, “One is never over- or underdressed with a little black dress.” which is why I have been in awe of this Chloé Spring 2013 two-piece outfit since I saw it on the catwalk. OK, so it isn’t particularly a dress but there’s no doubt that it still has the same effect. Elizabeth Olsen recently wore the statement ruffled neckline top and skirt to the 19th Annual City Harvest Event in New York City. She completed the outfit with a pair of understated black pumps and a Chloé Bella gold metal clutch. Opting for her hair tied back, she emphasised her striking eyes with dramatic smokey make-up.
One month before, Martha Hunt was the one first spotted in the Chloé dress whilst attending the Chloé 60th Anniversary Party in New York. She teamed with a pair of light brown Chloé leather strappy sandals. She completed the look with basic final touches similar to Elizabeth’s, including a small golden clutch, a simple plain golden bracelet and her hair also tied in a ponytail.
The Chloé set isn’t available but if you want to re-create this look you should try this Lanvin ruffle neck dress (£918.43) or, as a cheaper alternative I suggest this Temperly London Fiesta ruffled dress (now £362), also check out these Marni suede pumps (£170.30) they are just fabulous! On this occasion my vote goes to Elizabeth, although both women looked stylish in this combination of crop top and skirt, I think the choice of brown sandals wasn’t a great choice for this outfit. But who does your vote go to?
